Two electric motorcycles presented by Yamaha as concept bikes at Tokyo Motor Show will enter production until 2016.
The news is shown in an Yamaha annual report. PES1 and PED1 share the same chassis, engine and lithium-ion battery. The differences, though, are obvious: one is made for street use, the other one is made for enduro.
Yamaha PES1 is the street model and it weights about 100 kg. The PED1, made for off road is lighter, with less than 85 kg. Both motorcycles provide a removable battery and can be connected to the smartphone.
