After wining his 5th race of the season at Le Mans and held off Valentino Rossi, who finished second for the third time this year, Marc Marquez gained some praise from his Italian rival.
Former World Champion, Valentino Rossi, says that it is Marc Marquez and not the motorcycle who is propelling the Honda Team towards a successful season.
The Spaniard was unstoppable at Le Mans, winning his 5th successive race of the season in style, after dropping to 10th place at the beginning, to make a wonderful recovering by the end of the race.
“I think it is more the rider at Honda, because Pedrosa is a great rider but he arrived fifth and was four seconds behind. Pedrosa is very fast but is always struggling a little in the cooler conditions and when it is wet and cold and Marc is always in front and pushing. They have a small bike advantage compared to us but Marc is the only one able to squeeze the Honda at 100%”, said Rossi.
“This year with Marc having more experience and riding like this, and at this moment technically the Honda is a little bit better than the Yamaha”, added the Italian rider.
