Defending World Superbike champion Tom Sykes battles back from a low of 11th to claim his third WSBK win of the season. Tom Sykes has reclaimed the World Superbike Championship lead after producing one of his finest-ever rides to charge back from 11th place to win on home soil at Donington Park.
Starting seventh on the grid, Sykes slipped back on the opening lap, down in 11th and more than six seconds adrift off the leaders, after getting balked by team-mate Loris Baz and suffering with intermittent issues on the bike.
The Kawasaki rider, however, managed to came back and surprised everyone with victory at Donington Park, leaving the second place for his team mate, Loris Baz. Podium was completed by Suzuki’s rider, Lowes.
