Valentino Rossi, historic victory at MotoGP San Marino

Valentino Rossi won the MotoGP race in San Marino, after a thrilling battle with Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo. Marquez finished the race on… 16th place.

The race at Misano Adriatico had a very spectacular debut. Jorge Lorenzo had the pole position, and since the first laps, the battle between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez was on. After a thrilling duel, Rossi won the fight and went after his teammate, Jorge Lorenzo. There was another battle, and Il Dottore was victorious again. But the moment that decided the result in MotoGP San Marino was when Marc Marquez made a mistake and had a small crash. He was unhurt, but it was enough for him to loose contact with the others. He only managed to finish on 15th position. Meanwhile, Rossi was the leader for more than a half of the race.

Yamaha made a spectacular double, with Lorenzo on the second place and Valentino Rossi had one of his best days on track. It was the single victory in this season and the second after winning MotoGP Assen last year.

The battle for 3rd was between Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati) and Dani Pedrosa (Honda). It should have been way too beautiful for the Italians to see Valentino Rossi winning and Andrea Dovizioso on a Ducati on the 3rd position, but Pedrosa was faster.
