Kawasaki Ninja H2R will be one of the most powerful motorcycles in the world. The supercharged engine will have a 300 hp target.
After a lot of Kawasaki teasing – 10 short episodes with different parts of the motorcycle – we managed to get the first real details about the new Ninja H2, one of the most wanted and exotic motorcycles in this autumn. It will be officially introduced to the public at Intermot, Cologne.
Kawasaki Ninja H2 will have two versions: H2 and H2R. H2 will have headlights and can be driven on the public roads and H2R is designed especially for the racetrack.
The 998 inline four engine is supercharged (centrifugal scroll-type supercharger) and is capable of up to 300 hp („design target 300 ps“), according to Kawasaki.
The Kawaski Ninja H2 engine was developed alongside another divisions in the Kawasaki Group (Gas Turbine & Machinery Company, Aerospace Company and Corporate Technology Division) and should be capable of a breathtaking acceleration.
And it wasn’t the only collaboration between different Kawasaki divisions. The trellis frame is both stiff and capable to resist at high speeds without a long wheelbase.
And if you think that the new Kawasaki Ninja H2 will be able to fly, you are wrong. They put a carbon fiber wings to keep the bike on the ground at top-speed.
As for the name… the Ninja brand is already well-known (there are 30 years of superbike history). The H2 comes from a model built in 1972. Kawasaki H2 Mach IV was a 750 cc three-cylinder two-stroke production motorcycle manufactured by Kawasaki until 1975.
This is all we got for now. More details on the following days.
