KTM 1290 Super Adventure presents with some thrilling figures: 160 horsepower and 140 NM. Which makes it the most powerful adventure bike of the moment.
KTM unveiled its new weapon for the big adventure-touring motorcycles battlefield. The Austrians are trying to conquer the R 1200 GS Adventure territory with impressive power and lot of electronic systems.
KTM 1290 Super Adventure will have the 1.300 cc V-Twin from „The Beast“ 1290 Superduke R. The engine boosts 160 hp and massive torque, with 108 NM available at 2.500 rpm. Remember, it’s and adventure bike, not a track bike. The KTM engineers modified the cylinder heads and the crankshaft of the engine to make it suitable for the adventure purposes. They had also modified the sixth gear, which is longer, now.

KTM 1290 Super Adventure has a tubular space frame which weights 9,8 kg. This contributes to the overall weight of 229 kg (without fuel) and 249 fully fuelled.
As for the wheels, the front is 19 inches, while the back is 17 inches. Both spoked.
KTM Super Adventure also has the new ABS developed by Bosch, with optional MSC (Motorcycle Stability Control) – an electronic system which allows you to push the brake pedal in corners without losing the grip. Another safety feature is the steering damper.
The new adventure bike is equipped with WP Semi-active suspension. The control unit adapts the damping in real-time according to the surface and riding style. It’s got four damping modes: soft, street, sport, offroad. Among the electronic systems, we also have a Hill Hold Control and MSR (motor slip regulation) – it prevents the rear wheel to lock when you shift down abruptly or you shut down the throttle.
Of course, KTM 1290 Super Adventure has the Motorcycle Traction Control, which offers four different riding modes: Sport, Street Rain (only 100 hp available), Offroad (controlled offroad drifts), Off.
The Super Adventure has adjustable handlebar, windscreen, seat and footpegs. The seat could be also heated. There are two LED headlights into the tank fairing (left and right) linked to the leaning sensor of the motorcycle for a better visibility in the corners. They are turning on/shutting off according to your lean angle.
