Kawasaki unveiled another two lightweight models to complete its A2 license motorcycle range. Both Ninja 250SL and Z250SL are based on the same engine and chassis.
Both bikes will be real superstars in Asia and, probably, they were built for that part of the world, but they were also presented at EICMA – Milan, as a budget alternative to Ninja 300 and Z 300. We don’t know the prices yet, but they should be cheaper than the 300 cc models. Probably, they will cost around 3.500-4.000 euros, depending on the market.
Ninja 250SL and Z 250SL share their bigger brothers design elements. They are both powered by the same single cylinder engine, developing 28 HP at 9.700 rpm. As for the weight, Ninja 250SL has 152 kg with ABS (335 lbs) and Z 250 is two kg lighter.
The fuel tank capacity is 11 liters, but the ground clearance is greater at the naked bike. As for the suspension, wheels, and braking system, they are all the same. You will have a 37 mm fork with 110 mm travel, while the rear wheel travel is 116 mm. The front wheel has a 100 mm width, while the back is 130. They both have 17’’.
