Troy Bayliss will race in WSBK 2015 1st Round

Troy Bayliss will race as wildcard for Ducati at Philip Island in the first round of this year’s World Superbike, replacing Davide Giuliano.

Troy Bayliss (45) is a retired World Superbike legend. He won three WSBK titles and scored 52 victories in the Superbike Championship, being the second most successful rider after Carl Fogarty. He also raced in British Superbike and MotoGP.

He will replace Davide Giuliano due to an injury the Italian had during Monday tests. The first Superbike race will begin at 12:00 pm (local time).

“I know it’s going to be a very difficult weekend, also because it’s a while since I’ve ridden the Superbike but I do know the track well and so hope to get back into it after a few laps. I’ll try to enjoy myself and will of course be doing my best to score a good result and put on a good show for the public”, commented Troy Bayliss according to wsbk.com.
