Marc Marquez has dominated the last day test of the Sepang 2 test. His closest rival, Jorje Lorenzo was 0.3 seconds slower. Also, the weather played a major roll as temperatures torched the asphalt. After a first day full of problems, Marques focused on the evaluation of different chassis and set ups. His best lap was 1’59.115 and by this, Marquez was over 3 tenths of a second ahead of his nearest competitors.
Dani Pedrosa struggled during the last day until the afternoon when he managed to improve his time by a half a second during the test. In fact he was the only pilot who improved his time during the afternoon, reaching the finish line under 2 seconds and finishing on 7th place.
Jorge Lorenzo was in a really good shape and managed to finish on second place overall at Sepang 2 tests. Despite the hellish temperatures, he managed to hold Marc Marquez in his sights. Lorenzo also concentrated on the evaluation of the new gearbox along with his teammate from Yamaha Movistar, Valentino Rossi.
Although Valentino Rossi was one of the only seven riders that broke the 2 minute per lap mark, his performance overall was not as good and therefore he hopes that Qatar will be better.
Andrea Iannone from Ducati had a good day and managed to finish fourth after a fast morning lap. The difference between him and Marquez was 0.6s on the last morning of the test. In fact, just as Iannone, many riders managed to set their fastest laps in the first part of the day.
