Yamaha prepared a notice to recall some 2015 models. The recall will start in the North America and hopefully will continue thru out the world.
The notice states that: “the affected motorcycles may have an incorrectly manufactured shift cam segment stopper, having a sharp edge on the inside of the bend instead of a smooth radius. As a result, the stopper can crack and possible fracture at this sharp edge.” This also may prevent the transmission to shift properly and may result in the crash of the motorcycle.
Also Yamaha will start a factory modification in order to prevent future models to suffer from the same issue. Owners are invited in showrooms or authorized services to replace the defective parts.
The affected models are:
2015 MT-09 Tracer (FJ-09)
2015 FZ6R
2015 Super Tenere
2015 Super Tenere ES
2015 YZF R6
