Norton is preparing to build a V4 superbike. The new motorcycle will make 200 hp from the 1200cc V4 engine and now we have official sketches of the beast.
A couple of weeks ago, we talked about Norton receiving a £4million development fund by the UK Government. These funds are for creating a new manufacturing facility, more jobs, and new models. Now, Bike Social has official information on Norton’s V4 superbike. The full spec will feature 200 hp and the british motorcycle will be built to rival Ducati Panigale. Furthermore, design will take inspiration from the likes of Aston Martin and the British F1 car industry.
The news comes from Norton’s Head of Design, Simon Skinner, who spoke to Bike Social. The bike will have a 1200 cc V4 engine capable of more than 200 hp. The motorcycle will be quite similar to the “SG” raced on the Isle of Man TT. As far as engine development goes, Ricardo Motorcycles will take care of everything.
Norton 200 hp 1200cc V4 superbike is not the only model in development. Other motorcycles are being build such as a 650cc parallel-twin sport bike, which it’s believed to reinvent the segment. Rumours even predict an electric model.
